Most people have a good idea of what Quality Assurance is. Yet, if asked to define it, many different definitions would likely be offered. In the quality field, the most common definition for Quality Assurance is "all the planned activities that provide confidence that a company will fulfill requirements for quality."

 

Many companies do not need all of the components of an ISO 9000 or Total Quality effort. For them, a traditional Quality Assurance Program is all they need to provide confidence to their customers that they fulfill all the requirements for quality.
